Parking in Santiago is generally easy and affordable, with limited paid zones in the city centre.

On-Street Parking

  • City centre (around Monumento, Duarte Park): Some metered parking (~10–20 DOP/hour)
  • Residential areas: Free street parking
  • Commercial areas (Los Jardines, Central): Free parking for most shops
  • Malls and supermarkets have large free parking lots
  • Underground garages near the city centre: ~30–50 DOP/hour
  • Central market area: guarded parking ~50 DOP/day
  • Most hotels offer free parking for guests

Tips

  • Parking enforcement is limited — use common sense (avoid blocking driveways)
  • Valet parking (parqueo con valet) is common at upscale restaurants and bars
